Why Watch
Pluto begins with a request that should have been simple.
On her wedding night, Ob-oom asks her twin sister Ai-oon to end a secret relationship on her behalf. After Ob-oom and her husband are involved in a devastating accident, Ai-oon decides to fulfill her sister’s request and meets the mysterious woman named May.
But May is not who Ai-oon expects.
She is a blind young lawyer who believes Ai-oon is Ob-oom, the woman she loves. Ai-oon intends to tell her the truth and walk away, but the moment becomes much more complicated when she realizes that she is beginning to fall for May herself.
Instead of ending the relationship, Ai-oon steps into her sister’s place.
What follows is a love story built on an impossible secret, where every tender moment brings Ai-oon and May closer while also bringing them closer to a truth that could tear them apart.
What Makes It Special
Pluto is much more than its twin-identity premise.
At its heart, it is about two people trying to find where they belong in each other’s lives when love, memory, guilt, family, and identity have all become tangled together.
Namtan delivers an especially demanding performance by creating two distinctly different sisters in Ai-oon and Ob-oom. Ai-oon can be guarded, awkward, stubborn, funny, and deeply vulnerable, often within the same episode.
Film brings something very different to May. Her performance is gentle and expressive without making May feel fragile. There is a warmth in the way she plays her that makes even the quietest scenes between May and Ai-oon feel important.
Together, Namtan and Film create a relationship that can feel playful and comforting one moment and heartbreaking the next.
- Namtan playing two very different twin sisters
- Film’s warm and emotionally sincere performance as May
- Romance mixed with mystery and family secrets
- A story where small gestures matter as much as dramatic moments
- Emotional twists that change how earlier moments are understood
- Beautiful use of stars, light, and the idea of orbit throughout the story
- A relationship that becomes deeper as the characters begin discovering the truth
AsianGL Verdict
Pluto is one of those GL series that stays with you after it ends. The mystery pulls you in, but Ai-oon and May are what make the story memorable. Their relationship begins with deception, yet as the series unfolds, what develops between them feels increasingly personal, believable, and entirely their own.
Namtan is excellent in the demanding task of portraying two distinctly different sisters, while Film takes on an equally challenging role as May. She has to portray blindness convincingly while carrying some of the series’ most emotional scenes, often relying on voice, body language, pauses, and subtle expression rather than traditional eye contact. Film gives May warmth, strength, vulnerability, and independence without ever allowing her blindness to define the character. Underneath the secrets, mistaken identities, family wounds, and dramatic twists, Pluto is ultimately about finding the person your life begins to orbit around. It is romantic, funny, painful, complicated, and sometimes completely unfair to your emotions but it has heart, and for us, that makes it unforgettable.
