Why Watch
After suddenly losing both her job and her father, Wan is left responsible for the old family grocery store. What initially feels like another burden slowly becomes a chance to rebuild something meaningful.
Then there is Maewnam, a loyal customer who seems unusually interested in helping.
Maewnam has actually remembered Wan for much longer than Wan realizes, and she wastes little time making her feelings known. Her enthusiastic pursuit of Wan gives the series much of its humor and charm, while Wan slowly begins to see her familiar neighborhood store — and Maewnam — differently.
But their growing relationship becomes more complicated when family and business interests begin colliding with Wan’s attempts to protect her father’s legacy.

AsianGL Verdict
Whale Store XOXO proves that a GL romance does not need an extravagant setting to feel special. Much of its charm comes from something incredibly ordinary, a neighborhood grocery store and the people who slowly turn it into a place filled with memories, friendships, and new beginnings.
Milk and Love have an easy chemistry that makes even the simplest scenes enjoyable. Maewnam’s very obvious affection brings plenty of humor, while Wan’s more reserved personality gives their relationship a nice balance. Watching Maewnam gradually become part of Wan’s everyday life is where the romance really works.
The series also gives its story more emotional weight through Wan’s relationship with her father’s store. Saving the shop becomes about more than keeping a business alive; it represents holding onto the past while deciding what she wants her future to look like. With its cozy setting, lovable characters, and MilkLove chemistry, Whale Store XOXO turns an ordinary grocery store into a surprisingly memorable place to fall in love.
