Why Watch
Ongsa is trying to survive a new school, a new social world, and one very inconvenient crush. When she sends a late-night message to the bright and popular Sun using the Instagram name “Earth,” Sun assumes the person behind the account is a boy.
Ongsa knows she should correct the misunderstanding. Instead, terrified that honesty will end the connection before it has really begun, she keeps talking to Sun as Earth while becoming increasingly close to her in real life.
That secret gives 23.5 its central tension, but the series is at its best when it focuses on the awkwardness of a first serious crush: overthinking messages, reading meaning into tiny gestures, getting jealous before you have any right to be jealous, and trying to work out whether the person you like could possibly like you back.
What Makes It Special
- Milk’s wonderfully awkward and expressive performance as Ongsa
- Love’s warm, sunny energy as Sun
- A first-love story built around texting, identity, and the courage to be honest
- Astronomy and planetary imagery woven naturally into the romance
- Aylin and Luna adding another memorable sapphic relationship
- Friendship and school-life humor that keep the series light on its feet
- A gentle coming-of-age tone that makes it an easy entry point into Thai GL
AsianGL Verdict
23.5 understands that a teenage crush can feel like a planetary event. Ongsa does not need a huge dramatic problem to make us nervous for her; sometimes watching her attempt to say one normal sentence to Sun is enough.
Milk and Love give the romance its charm because Ongsa and Sun feel genuinely different from one another. Ongsa is anxious, messy and constantly calculating the risk of being seen, while Sun approaches people with much more openness. Their chemistry turns that contrast into something sweet rather than forced.
For viewers looking for a softer Thai GL with humor, first-love nerves and characters who are easy to root for, 23.5 remains one of GMMTV’s most approachable GL series.
